Relaxing for 3 Days in Bali
We celebrated 100 days of traveling in beautiful Bali, Indonesia! We can’t believe we’ve been gone for over three months… time flies when you’re having SO MUCH fun!
A scheduling snafu turned our 5 nights in Bali into only 3 nights. We accidentally confused some redeye flights for nights we’d have at the beach, only to realize later that we’d actually only given ourselves a super short visit.
We stayed in the Seminyak beach area, one of the main tourist hubs in the southwest part of the island. With so little time, we unfortunately didn’t do much exploring. We wandered back and forth between the beach and our Airbnb, a beautiful apartment with a lovely private pool.
A highlight of our time here was spending one afternoon each having our own version of a perfect beach day. John tried his hand at surfing while I did some reading on a comfortable, cushioned lounge chair a few feet away. Chairs and umbrellas were available all along the beach and for about $8 USD per day. The surfboard was also about $8 USD for “until you get tired” or $24 USD for an hour lesson and the board for the day. John, confident he could figure it out, opted for just the board and was able to get a couple of decent rides (while also managing to lose his replacement wedding ring… oops).
While we can’t say we saw much of Bali, it was certainly a treat to have a relaxing few days here.
